Entry requirements for Azerbaijan

When traveling to Azerbaijan, you must comply with the applicable entry regulations. We inform you about current rules, necessary documents, as well as the latest import regulations for Azerbaijan.

If you want to enter Azerbaijan, then you must present the following documents to the border officials at the airport:

• Your passport that is valid for at least three months beyond the last day of your e-visa's validity
• The printout of your approved e-visa for Azerbaijan

Airlines and border guards around the world take care to keep minors safe when traveling. Therefore, if you are traveling with children, we recommend bringing the following documents:

• a certified translation of the child's birth certificate
• copies of the identity cards or passports of other guardians and their written consent to the trip
• the child's declaration of consent to traveling by signature (if possible)

Your permission to cross the border into Azerbaijan depends on the decision of the relevant border officials. They make their determination based on the following questions:

• Are you entering Azerbaijan for the exact reason given in your e-visa?
• Does the data from your passport match the data in your e-visa?
• Do you plan to leave Azerbaijan before your e-visa expires?
• Are your travel documents valid, and does your passport meet all the requirements?

If officials deem you eligible after reviewing your documents and making a personal assessment, you will be allowed to enter Azerbaijan.

When traveling to Azerbaijan, always follow the current safety and health regulations. This may change spontaneously at any time, so we recommend checking your airline's website for details both a few weeks before your trip and on the day of your flight.

There are no mandatory vaccinations for traveling to Azerbaijan. However, standard childhood immunizations and vaccinations against hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, rabies, and TBE are recommended.

There is no insurance required for entry into Azerbaijan. However, we recommend taking out travel health insurance, which will provide you with adequate protection on the ground.

Upon arrival in Azerbaijan, you must complete a customs declaration form and present it to customs officials. In addition to valuables, you must also provide information on this form about any consumables (tobacco, alcohol) and commercial goods you are bringing with you.

Personal items for use during the trip may be imported into Azerbaijan duty-free. Import of foreign currency in unlimited amounts is also allowed but must be declared in customs.

You may import the following items into Azerbaijan only upon presentation of an appropriate permit:

• Military equipment and ammunition
• Certain genetically modified plants
• Certain fishing nets and tackle
• Vehicles
• Goods subject to licensing
• Animals, products of animal origin, and raw materials based on international veterinary certificates

You are not allowed to take the following goods to Azerbaijan:

• Weapons, explosives, and ammunition (unless you have permission)
• Literature and video materials that offend the morals and laws of the country
• Radioactive substances
• Narcotics, psychotropic substances, and their precursors, as well as accessories for their use (unless you have permission)
• Equipment for the production of narcotics, psychotropic, poisonous, and explosive substances or military weapons and ammunition
• Satellite telephones
• Equipment for mining and processing precious stones, gold, and other precious metals, oil, oil products, and natural gas
• Equipment for printing valuable papers and equipment for the manufacture of such equipment
• Ozone-depleting substances and products containing them
• Highly toxic substances
• Technical means for gathering secret information
• Broadband radio receivers for radio surveillance and radio control
• Genetically modified plants for scientific research, testing, and demonstration purposes
• Unmanned aerial vehicles (drones)
• Endangered species of wild animals and plants
• Religious literature and materials

When bringing goods into Azerbaijan, be sure to comply with applicable import regulations, never leave your luggage unattended, and do not take items from unknown persons.
